Two weeks ago we moved into our new home. Our old home had been on the marker for 20 of the last 24 months. Needless to say, we were so happy when it finally sold. I didn't think I would get emotional when I left the house because we had such a challenge selling it, but to my surprise, I got a little misty.
Once the bulk of the stuff was out of the house, I stayed back to pack the last few items. I sat in my empty home, just me and the dogs, taking one last look around. A decade ago I felt like my world was falling apart. I was picking up the pieces of a broken relationship and wondering what I was going to do with my life. I bought this house 7 years ago and so much has happened in that little home. I went back to school, became a nurse, adopted my little shih tzu Pacha, met Pierre, adopted our greyhound Bentley, got married, adopted our beautiful baby girl Cassie.
That old house has seen so much and as I walked one last time through it, I realised I have everything I ever wanted: loving husband, beautiful daughter, awesome dogs, a career I love and now, a new home. I'm excited to see what the new house will bring, but honestly, I'm complete.
